Welcome to Frozen For You!

We’re a family-owned business with decades of experience in the food industry. Founded by Karen Short in 1993, By Word of Mouth catering has grown into one of the country’s top catering companies, earning the title of ‘Best Caterer in Joburg’ for 23 consecutive years, along with numerous prestigious international accolades.

Our second journey began with clients requesting take-home versions of our most popular catered meals, leading to the creation of Frozen For You, South Africa’s favorite premium frozen meal brand.

FROZEN FOOD, REIMAGINED

We proudly opened our first Frozen For You store in Dainfern Square in March 2018. Today, we have 15 flagship stores across Gauteng, Pretoria, Cape Town, and KwaZulu-Natal.

A growing part of our business is our exciting new store-in-a-store concept, where we partner with retailers to open a Frozen For You within their stores. We maintain the same high standards and manage these spaces just like our flagship stores—no shortcuts or sub-par experiences.

We pride ourselves on being highly human and hyper-helpful. No bots or AI automation here—when you call or email, you’ll always get a real person ready to assist!

We offer online ordering and same-day home delivery for your convenience. By handling all deliveries ourselves, we ensure complete control from our kitchen to your door. With 31 years of experience in safe food delivery, thanks to our extensive catering history, we prioritize health and hygiene. Rest assured, our products are never compromised during delivery.

Instead, we use ‘nature’s pause button’—blast freezing. This allows us to focus on sourcing the absolute best, raw, fresh, high-quality ingredients and cooking them just as you would at home. It’s the marriage of simplicity and quality that makes our meals extra special.

That’s where we come in. We do the hard work and prepare wholesome, flavoursome, nutrient-dense meals in small batches. No industrial mega-factory intimidation here, just a passionate team that prepares meals just as you would at home (but, maybe a bit better…).

Over the years we’ve perfected the recipes, and mastered the art of preparation. We make it, blast freeze it, then send it to you. All you have to do is simply read the instructions, select air fry, oven or microwave, and watch your restaurant-quality meal come to life.
